Congratulations to Lexi (Winner), Anna, (1st runner up), and George (2nd runner up) in the Four-Way Speech contest sponsored by the Rotary Club of Waynesboro!
Students selected a topic and spoke as to how the topic met the Rotary International Four Way Test:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
We also thank Rotary Club of Waynesboro for the $600 in prize money awarded to these students.

Our new art teacher, Mrs. Gagliardo, and our yearbook class are hard at work finishing up the 2023-24 yearbook. Make sure to order online to reserve your copy!

WASHS is offering a new dual enrollment course this year through a partnership with the University of Pittsburgh - Intro to Human Nutrition. Mrs. Kipe, a member of our Family Consumer Science Department, completed the required training to instruct this course at WASHS, allowing students the opportunity to earn 3 U of Pitt credits at a discounted rate!
Pictures are from a recent lab about the Digestive System - Students used yarn to visualize the size of the human digestive system and then common household materials to simulate the movement of food through different organs.
Intro to Human Nutrition is available to students in grades 11 or 12 - see your counselor if you are interested in learning more!

Good luck, Maidens!
