Thank you, Dunkin Donuts, for partnering with our cross country teams for a fall fundraiser! We are so appreciative to all of our local businesses and community groups for their ongoing support of our school and our learners!

A beautiful start to our day! Thanks to Mrs. Myers of the WAMS Science department for sending us this picture!

Good luck to our runners competing in the District Cross Country Meet on Saturday!

Our spring 2022 Community Arts class worked on a beautiful mural to thank our "hometown heros." Last week they got to see it installed on the side of Christine's Cafe!

Picture make-up day is Tuesday, October 18 from 7:30 - 9:00 am. This is an opportunity for any learner who was absent on picture day or who has enrolled since picture day to be photographed and be include in the yearbook. Families will receive a proof of the photo along with information to order picture packages online through Pictures Plus.
Second, a reminder that first marking period ends Friday, October 28. We encourage all learners to check the Sapphire Community Web Portal to ensure missing assignments are completed and submitted to be included in first marking period grades. Please connect with your child’s teacher if you have questions about your child’s grades.

The annual WASD Elementary track meet was held Monday at Buchanan Auto Stadium. Every year, NHS members volunteer to do registration, field events, track events, announcing, data entry, ribbon writing, and concessions. There was an overwhelming volunteer response, with a total of 77 NHS members volunteering (on their day off from school)!

Other place finishers include: Kylie B. in 5th place for the Women's Varsity, Joey J. (11th) and Noah B. (12th) in Men's Varsity. Individual runners will participate in the Mid Penn next weekend!

The Waynesboro Area School District wishes to thank the families and community members for their patience as we navigated the printing of our district calendars during a national paper shortage.
We are pleased to announce that district calendars have arrived and were distributed to all students this week.
If anyone would like a calendar, we have extras available at the district's administrative office building (Clayton). You may pick up a calendar during regular business hours.
Thank you again for your continued support of WASD.

We are thankful for the many local businesses, organizations, and partners who support our school and our learners. This year Mrs. Shaull's class was welcomed to practice life skills instruction in the kitchen at Five Forks Church!

Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams on their win over Big Spring in their only home race of the season!

Due to possible lack of quorum, the board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2022 has been moved from in-person to virtual. Public comments can be made online via the form on the district website.

Congratulations to Riley, Evan, Madison, and Megan - all members of the Class of 2023 who received the National Rural and Small Town Award from College Board! All four earned a 3.5 GPA and earned a PSTA score in the top 10% of those who took the test nationwide!

Mr. Herb's CareerTech biology class simulated the work of an apple company during their lab last week. Learners practiced their scientific method skills by testing different substances (vegetable oil, vinegar, water, lemon juice, and different processes) to see which would keep apples from browning.

Learners in Mrs. Kelley's honors biology classes completed a bubble lab using different types of solutions. This lab reinforced their skills using the scientific method!

WASHS yearbook sales are now underway!
