Leadership Franklin County Youth is a program whose mission is to "invest in promising high school sophomores by providing them the tools to emerge as leaders in their personal lives, schools, and communities. This year WASHS was represented by Aiden and Emma. LFCY brings sophomores from county schools together for a year-long program that concluded this month. Part of their program this year was organizing an act of kindness project and the two provided cards and gifts to our cafeteria and custodial staff. Aiden and Emma would like to thank members of WASHS student council for their assistance with this project! Way to go Aiden and Emma! Special thanks to our high school learners for their support of Be the Village's Downtown Window Story walk. Learners in Mr. Jordon Fisher's classes made the triangle peg board games and Mrs. Holtzman's learners packaged all of the brain teaser materials. It’s amazing to see full circle connections with the learners supporting early childhood education and our community!

WASHS conducted a Run-Hide-Fight intruder DRILL this morning. We called the drill at 8:30 am and everyone was evacuated and accounted for within 12 minutes! Officer Gordon was very impressed with how quickly everyone evacuated the building and teachers already troubleshooting how to evacuate faster in the future. Great Job WASHS staff and learners!
