We would like to thank Congressman Joyce and his staff for speaking with our students today. In addition to speaking with our students, Dr. Joyce donated books to our school from the Library of Congress. It was a great honor to have him visit our school.

Hello SV families, we just had a five minute internal lockdown due to a situation that brought a little extra attention to our office area. Everyone was safe and things were totally fine but we just wanted to exercise caution. The students were not aware of any type of concern and again everyone was safe.

Congressman John Joyce will be visiting our school today. We are thankful for his service and for him visiting our students.

We would like to thank all of our students for participating in our activities we did this week to represent Red Ribbon Week.

Our staff had a lot of fun with their costumes today.

We have a lot of fun costumes today!!

Our students can wear costumes to school tomorrow. Please consider the appropriateness of your child's costume. We are asking that nothing that could be considered violent or related to violence be a part of your child's costume. Thank you for your help with this.

Our final pumpkin!!

TONIGHT IS DOMINO'S NIGHT!!! Papers either went home earlier this week or will be coming home this afternoon. If your family purchases Domino's tonight please make sure to show them the form and our PTO/school will benefit from your purchase. Thank you for your support!

This is just a reminder, today is hat day.

More pumpkins!!! We are waiting on one more and then we will be voting on the best one.

In honor of School Bus Safety Week, WASD wanted to make available a booklet of fun activities related to school bus safety for students to learn and have fun! Go to the district website and click on your elementary child's school page. You will find it under the "STUDENTS" tab.

Two more pumpkins!!!

Here is the first of our six pumpkins for our decorating contest.

We had our fire drill with the local fire department today. Everyone did a great job and we appreciate the local fire department coming out to work with our school.

The rest of Red Ribbon Week themes are as follows:
Tuesday: Wear Mismatched Clothes
Wednesday: Wear Tie-Dye
Thursday: Wear a Hat
Friday: Wear a Costume (We are asking for costumes that do not portray violence or other themes that are not appropriate for school.)

Today begins Red Ribbon Week and we are encouraging all students to wear red today. Tomorrow is mismatched clothes day.

Since we changed our Trunk or Treat to 10/27, an additional girls' volleyball try-outs will be offered on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25 from 6pm - 8pm in the High School gym. They are still doing a try-out on 10/27, as originally scheduled.
