Here is the first of our six pumpkins for our decorating contest.

We had our fire drill with the local fire department today. Everyone did a great job and we appreciate the local fire department coming out to work with our school.

The rest of Red Ribbon Week themes are as follows:
Tuesday: Wear Mismatched Clothes
Wednesday: Wear Tie-Dye
Thursday: Wear a Hat
Friday: Wear a Costume (We are asking for costumes that do not portray violence or other themes that are not appropriate for school.)

Today begins Red Ribbon Week and we are encouraging all students to wear red today. Tomorrow is mismatched clothes day.

Since we changed our Trunk or Treat to 10/27, an additional girls' volleyball try-outs will be offered on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25 from 6pm - 8pm in the High School gym. They are still doing a try-out on 10/27, as originally scheduled.

Remember, your children get dismissed from school early today (12:50 PM) and her is the link to SV Shark Bytes:

We are sorry to announce that due to the pending weather conditions we are postponing our Trunk or Treat event until next Friday, 10/27, at 6:30 PM. Also, we are canceling the yard sale that was scheduled for tomorrow. We will not be rescheduling the yard sale this fall. Maybe we will try again in the spring. Thank you.

This is just a reminder your children will be dismissed from school tomorrow at 12:50 PM. Have a great evening.

Our students did an excellent job with our pumpkin decorating contest. Below, you will see all of the participants and each grade level winner. Next staff members will be painting the winning designs on real pumpkins, and then we will be voting on them schoolwide.

Hello SV Families! Sorry for any confusion, our Trunk or Treat is at 6:30 PM, not 6 PM on Friday night.

This is just a reminder: Picture retakes are tomorrow.

This young man did a simple, but great thing when it comes to school safety. We are very proud of him. His shirt was a coincidence, but as we know good leaders do things to help others, and that is what he did recently for our school.

Hello SV Families!
If your child still wants to participate in the pumpkin decorating contest, please make sure they turn in their decorated picture by tomorrow, 10/17.

Hello, SV families!
This is just a reminder that our walk-a-thon, Miles for Smiles, is tomorrow.

Our 5th graders are enjoying a beautiful day at Camp Eder!!!

Our school's motto is 'Service with a Smile'. Every year, each grade level does a community service project. This year our third graders are writing letters to veterans at the VA Hospital in WV. Yesterday, a local veteran came to our school and spoke to our students.
