We are excited for our annual Homecoming events this weekend! For high school families, please read the full message for additional information about the Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 28.
All Homecoming events are rain or shine - umbrellas are permitted!
Parade & Football - Friday, Sept 26, 2024
Friday’s events will be begin at 5:30 pm with the homecoming parade between Summitview Elementary and the D-wing entrance to the high school. Second Street will be closed at this time, which will also impact the local streets of Enterprise Avenue, Virginia Avenue, as well as driveways to the Martin’s parking lot, WAMS, and the event entrance to WASHS.
Tickets for the game are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. Please remember that elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult for entry. Additionally, there is no free re-entry for any spectator. This includes game tickets sold before the parade. PIAA rules prohibit noise makers of any kind.
Student section theme for Friday’s game is white out.
Pre-game show will begin at 6:35 pm and will feature the WASHS marching band, color guard, and cheer squad. National Anthem will be performed by members of the WAMS band.
Kickoff for football versus Northern York is at 7:00 pm.
Candidates for homecoming king and queen will be introduced and winners will be crowned at halftime.
Saturday, Sept 28 - Homecoming Dance Information
WASHS attendees must be in school on Friday, Sept 27 in order to attend.
All attendees must have a ticket purchased in advance in order to attend.
NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR.All attendees will enter the building through the back parking lot.
Student drivers may park legally in any open parking space on school property.
Attendees being dropped off - please enter via the d-wing entrance or the 3rd street extension to drop your student off in the back of the building. Then exit the parking lot via the event entrance near the auditorium.
Homecoming dance begins at 7:00 pm, concludes at 10:00 pm. Anyone leaving before 9:00 pm will need to sign out and may not return.
Information about approved attire was included on expectations forms.
Homecoming is a semi-formal dance, so the following apparel is suggested: Dress pants, collared shirts, dresses, skirts, dress shoes.
The following apparel items are NOT permitted: jeans, shorts, sneakers, work boots, baseball hats, clothing that exposes the midriff
Students who did not purchase a ticket should not be on school property before, during, or after the dance.
