Hello families, A few reminders as we head into the last day of school for the 23-24 school year!

First, the WASD Board of School Directors recently revised Board Policy 815 - Student Acceptable Use of Internet, Computers, and Network Resources, also known as AUP. This policy should be read and understood by you and your child and then the new form signed. This policy and signatures remain in effect until your child graduates from WASD.

We are hoping to get these signed and returned before the end of the school year. Your child should have received a copy of the form to sign and return, as well as a copy of the form and policy for your records during PLT earlier this week. Click HERE to access the document, sign, and return just the top page to your child's PLT teacher or to the main office.

Second, please have your child look around for district property that they received this year. Anything not returned will be entered as an obligation in your child's Sapphire account and would need to be returned or paid next school year in order to buy a homecoming ticket.

  • Calculator, library books, textbooks - return to the library

  • Locker keys - return to PLT teacher beginning TUESDAY

  • Sports uniforms - return to the athletics office

  • Misc fees - pay to the main office (cash or check payable to

    WASD

    )

Additionally, WASHS Student Council is sponsoring a field day for students in grades 9-11 on the last day of school, Thursday, May 30. Reminder that May 30 is a full day of school!

  • Students will begin their day in their PLT class and will then transition to field day activities at 7:50 a.m.

  • Learners previously selected their field day activities from several indoor and outdoor options. We thank our local businesses and partners for hosting students from

    WASHS

    and

    WAMS

    on the

    30th

    !

    • Outdoor activities will be at

      Otterbein

Park, Rotary Park, downtown Waynesboro, and

      Renfrew

      Park

    • Indoor activities for the day include various crafts, baking, games, and movies. Movies being shown include the Star Wars Marathon, Harry Potter Marathon, Despicable Me Marathon, Back to the Future Marathon, Inside Out, Barbie, Top Gun Maverick, Remember the Titans, Sand Lot, The

      Goonies

      , The

  • Field day is a rain-or-shine event. Learners should be prepared for any weather and dress appropriately (sunscreen, sunglasses, raincoat, whatever the day calls for). We will bring students inside in the event of heavy rain or thunderstorms/lightning.

  • Any learner who signed up for an off-campus activity must complete and return a permission slip by Wednesday, May 29, in order to participate.

  • Learners selected a specific lunch option for field day. If a learner did not complete the field day survey or selected that they did not want to purchase a school-provided lunch, they should plan to bring a packed lunch to school for the day.

  • Learners who signed up for tie-dye should remember to bring a t-shirt or other clothing item to tie-dye.

Additionally, Chillin’ Out Snowballs and Antietam Dairy will be available in the afternoon for learners to purchase treats. Please ensure your learners have money to buy afternoon treats if interested.

Our Spring Field Day will conclude at 2:25 p.m. and learners will dismiss as usual from WASHS.

If you have any other questions, learners can contact Mrs. Behnke at stephanie_behnke@wasdpa.org
