A note from the cafeteria - since the learners will have some extra treats on Friday, October 30, next week's ice cream day will be WEDNESDAY, 10/28. If your learner is buying ice cream, please either put the money on his/her account through MySchoolBucks or send the $1 in an envelope labeled with your child's first and last name, grade, and student ID number.

Reminder that our spirit days for Project TEAM kickoff and Red Ribbon Week continue tomorrow, 10/23 through 10/30. Follow this link for the schedule - https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/952855/Summitview_Spirit_Days_October__2020_.pdf
We will have fall parties on Friday, 10/30. Our COVID-19 reopening safety protocol prevents volunteers from assisting in the building during parties. However we are looking for support from our families to provide donations for the parties. At this time about half of the items are signed up for but we are still looking for volunteers to bring other items. Please follow the link below to view the remaining items needed and to sign up (most sign ups are less than $5 each). Small items can be sent to school with your child; larger items should be dropped off. We would like everything to be at school by Monday, October 26 so that we can purchase additional items and begin sorting everything by classroom.Â

Project Team Kick-Off Week starts this week. Don't forget to wear YELLOW on Monday as we celebrate Harper, who helps others!

Today is Friday, which means it is ice cream day in the cafeteria! A few notes for next week to help out the cafeteria staff:
1. The easiest way to put money on your child's lunch account is through MySchoolBucks. (Follow this link to set up/access your account - https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/login/getlogin.action)
2. If you prefer to send money to school you MUST (a) label the money with your child's first and last name and student ID number, (b) have your child turn the money into their teacher in the morning OR place it inside the cafeteria drop box. WASD COVID reopening safety protocols prevent cafeteria staff from accepting cash through the lunch line.
3. Please talk to your child about whether or not you permit them to buy ice cream. Remember this is an ala carte item and is not included in free/reduced lunch, the cost of lunch, or including in the USDA free lunch program now in effect.

The following items are currently in our lost and found. If you see something that belongs to your child, please have him/her pick it up near the bell.

Picture re-take day will be Thursday, October 22 at 1:00 pm!

One of our WAMS colleagues captured this beautiful shot of our building last week!

FYI, Ice Cream day will be THURSDAY, 10/8 since there is no school for learners on Friday. Please remember that WASD COVID protocols prohibit cash paid through the lunch line. Learners either need to have money on their account or turn money in to the cafeteria in the morning.

Hello SV Families, Unfortunately there was a mistake on the original October Calendar published last week. It reflected the early dismissal on Thursday, 10/22. The correct early dismissal day is WEDNESDAY, October 21. We apologize for this error!

Thanks to our PTO for purchasing stickers to label our cafeteria seats and this awesome window vinyl!

So proud of our learners and staff for finishing our first round of emergency drills this week! Evacuated in 2:22 for our fire drill Tuesday and safely in our Run-Hide-Fight reunification place today in less than 9 minutes!

Our annual teacher conferences will be held Wednesday, October 7 through Friday October 9. Note that there is no school for learners on Friday, October 9 as teachers conduct conferences during the school day. This is a day off from school, not a Remote Learning Day.
Summitview will again utilize MyConferenceTime, which will allow families to schedule their own parent conferences online. A letter of information and directions was sent home with your child today. Click this link (https://5il.co/l2wy) to access an electronic copy of the letter.
In order to limit traffic in the building we are not hosting face-to-face parent conferences this year. Instead, conferences will be held virtually. After scheduling your conference, teachers will add a unique URL to your appointment which will allow you to participate in a virtual conference through any internet-connected device. Please contact your child’s teacher via email if you would prefer to conduct the conference over the phone.Â
WASD is proud of the connections we make between our school, our learners, and their families. We hope all families will take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss their progress to this point.Â
MyConferenceTime is now open for families to schedule a conference. The system will close to electronic scheduling on Wednesday, September 30 at 11:00 am. Please contact your child’s teacher if you need assistance in scheduling.Â
Thank you for your continued support. Have a good evening and stay #BoroStrong!

Hello Summitview families, A few reminders for this week as well as some general info:
Don't Forget - Wednesday, September 8 is NOT a remote learning day. Learners not enrolled in one of the district’s online learning programs will report to school on Wednesday.
1. Thanks for your patience as we get our dismissal plan worked out. Beginning today we are only calling car rider numbers, not learner names. If you need a number, please email Mrs. Ebersole at pam_ebersole@wasdpa.org to obtain a form.
2. School Picture Day will be Friday, September 11. Picture day order forms were sent home Friday. Ordering pictures is optional however all learners will have their picture taken for school IDs.Â
3. Prizes from the Kids Heart Challenge conducted in the spring and have been distributed. All learners should have their prizes by early next week. Please email Mr. Hedrick at casey_hedrick@wasdpa.org.
4. A few additional reminders:
*Learners must have a mask daily and must put it on upon arrival at school. We suggest keeping an extra in your child’s book bag just in case.
*All cafeteria money should be sent in an envelope clearly labeled with the learner’s name and grade. The cafeteria staff cannot accept money as learners go through the line.
*At this time all water fountains in the building are turned off and have been replaced with water bottle filling stations. All learners need to bring a reusable water bottle, labeled with his/her name, to school each day. Some teachers have been providing disposable cups this week but we cannot continue that practice long term.
