Update to WASD Wellness Policy effective for 2019-2020 school year, regarding food and snacks for classroom parties and celebrations (including birthdays):
- Food and snacks provided to classrooms for parties and celebrations will be required to be store bought, pre-packaged and/or sealed.
- Additionally, food/Snacks supplied by parents/guardians for classroom treats with identified food allergies will be required to follow specific guidelines for that classroom. (i.e.: Peanut/Tree nut, dairy, wheat (gluten), colored dye, egg, shellfish, etc.).
All parents are encouraged to contact your learner’s teacher prior to sending in food/snacks for parties and/or celebrations.
