MR. DEREK NULL – ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Dear WASHS Families,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at Waynesboro Area Senior High School. It is with great enthusiasm that I embark on this journey alongside such a dedicated district and community.
As an educator deeply committed to fostering meaningful relationships and preparing learners for the challenges and opportunities that await them beyond graduation, I am eager to collaborate with learners, families, and staff to create an environment where every learner can thrive.Throughout my career, I have been guided by the belief that education goes beyond the classroom walls. It is about providing students with diverse experiences that not only enrich their academic knowledge but also equip them with the interpersonal skills, values, and resilience necessary for success in all facets of life.
I am committed to supporting an inclusive school culture where every learner feels valued, empowered, and inspired to reach their full potential. Together, we will celebrate achievements, navigate challenges, and champion the growth and development of each and every learner.
Waynesboro is home for me and I am excited to serve the community that has given me so much. I graduated from WASHS with the Class of 2011 and was fortunate to be able to return to WASHS as a Social Studies teacher for six years after graduating from Penn State. I was most recently the Assistant Principal at Boonsboro High School in Washington County, MD. I obtained my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the California University of Pennsylvania.
I look forward to getting to know each of you as we work together to shape a bright and promising future for our learners.
Warm regards,
Mr. Null
